AEP is seeking a Station Electrician in McAlester, OK. This role involves electrical work on energized equipment up to 260 volts, maintenance of substations and transformers, and testing with standard electrical instruments.

The job requires the ability to travel over 50% of the time, overtime, and shift work, with a focus on safety and efficient restoration of service. Applicants should have an associate degree in electrical/maintenance technology or military/technical training, or equivalent

Competenze

Associate degree or equivalent in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology or military/technical equivalent.
Military training or recent Station Electrician experience acceptable.
No prior work experience required.

Mansioni

Work on energized equipment up to 260 volts.
Assist in maintenance of transformers, circuit breakers, substations and rotating machinery.
Read prints and drawings; use voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, megger and related test equipment.
Assist in station wiring, installation of conduit, cable and wires; install portable substations and fences.
Perform inspections, record keeping and reporting; assist in emergency response and restoration.
