Job summary

State of Wyoming is seeking a Lead Child & Youth Program Coordinator to lead statewide youth development and family readiness initiatives for the Wyoming Army National Guard. The role enhances deployment readiness and family well-being through strategic planning, partnerships, and robust supervision of staff and volunteers.

The position emphasizes program design, risk management, and collaboration with schools and agencies to support Guard families across the state.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (bachelor's preferred) in child development, education, youth development, or related behavioral science field.
• Mandatory CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• CNACI background check and State Child Abuse and Neglect background checks prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, coordinate, and execute statewide child and youth initiatives, camps, life-skills workshops, and educational activities for Wyoming National Guard families.
• Supervise personnel and volunteers, recruit, screen, train, and oversee volunteers in compliance with child safety standards.
• Develop and execute outreach strategies and communications to engage Guard youth and families across Wyoming.
• Provide deployment and reintegration support, resiliency education, and resources for military youth and families.
• Build partnerships with school districts, state agencies, and community organizations; mentor the State Youth Council.
• Track program metrics, conduct evaluations, ensure compliance, and submit reports to State Family Program leadership.
• Monitor funds, coordinate events, and ensure adherence to fiscal policies.
