Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to join our statewide Float Team, providing care across Medical, Radiation, and Infusion oncology units with assignments region-wide.

This full-time, Monday–Friday daytime role offers no weekends, on-call, or major holidays, with a supportive team, opportunities to grow across oncology specialties, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• 1-5 years of nursing experience, oncology strongly preferred.
• Current and active RN license with the State Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care.
• Conduct health assessments and obtain patient histories.
• Provide education and psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Safely administer therapies (medications, blood products) per standards.
• Perform venipuncture, access ports, and maintain central lines.
• Monitor labs and collaborate with providers on orders.
• Manage triage calls and symptom/medication management with documentation.
• Assist patients in accessing community resources.
• Follow the Float Pool Playbook for expectations.
