Job summary

Texas Oncology invites a Regional Float Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dedicated Float Pool. You’ll provide cross-coverage across Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Infusion units, rotating through multiple Northeast Texas sites.

Schedule is full-time, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm, with no weekends or major holidays. Your role supports patient care across clinics, with mentorship and growth opportunities as the Float Pool expands into subspecialties.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• RN license and current registration in practicing state.
• Current BLS certification.
• 1–3 years nursing experience.
• Oncology experience or interest in subspecialties preferred.
• Comfort with EHR systems (OncoEMR, Epic).

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating patient care.
• Conducting health assessments and obtaining patient histories.
• Providing psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Administering therapies and managing venipuncture and central lines.
• Monitor labs and coordinate with providers for orders.
• Triage calls and manage symptoms and medications.
• Assist patients in accessing community resources.
• Opportunity to cross-train into subspecialties as needed.
• Follow the Float Pool Playbook for expectations.
