Job summary

New York State ITS is seeking a Manager Information Technology Services 2 to lead network security operations across 52 state agencies and 135,000 users. You will oversee voice and data security, guide multiple security units, and report to the CTO.

The role works with Palo Alto Networks, F5, and cloud platforms, directing technical staff, ensuring design, implementation, compliance, and 24/7 on-call support. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Eight years of information technology, cybersecurity, or information assurance experience with two years at supervisory level.
• Proficiency in Palo Alto PAN-OS including security policies, zones, routing, and tunnels.
• Proficiency in Layer 3 routing including BGP, VRFs, route maps, redistribution, and NAT.
• Experience with monitoring and analysis tools such as Zenoss, Splunk, Palo Alto Panorama, and Wireshark.
• Proven ability to lead teams and develop network engineers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead network security operations for New York State ITS, overseeing teams that manage voice and data network security across 52 state agencies and 135,000 users.
• Coordinate with the Chief Information Security Office and report to the Chief Technology Office.
• Work with Palo Alto Networks, F5, and cloud platforms to design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure.
• Oversee design, implementation, compliance, and 24/7 on-call support.
• Lead technical staff and ensure effective incident response and monitoring.
