Job summary

The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) seeks a Manager Information Technology Services 2 (Information Security) to lead teams safeguarding NYS voice and data networks across on‑premises and cloud environments for 52 agencies and 135,000 users.

The role emphasizes security strategy, architecture, and incident response, with opportunities to mentor engineers and drive strategic security initiatives in a dynamic government setting.

Qualifications

• Eight years of IT, cybersecurity, or information assurance experience with two years in a supervisory role.
• Degree substitutions: bachelor's substitutes for three years of experience; associate degree substitutes for one year; master's for one year.
• Preferred: ability to lead teams, analytical and organizational skills, strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead network security manager overseeing NYS ITS voice and data networks, on-premises and in the Cloud.
• Manage F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform for full-proxy security.
• Oversee Web Application Firewall unit and Layer 7 defense against HTTP/HTTPS attacks.
• Oversee content filtering, microsegmentation, and data center firewall initiatives.
• Design and implement on-premises to Cloud connectivity with security controls.
• Provide 24x7x365 on-call support and high-level remediation coordination.
