Job summary

Delaware's Division of Parks and Recreation seeks a casual/seasonal maintenance worker responsible for tracking and executing building maintenance for 24 housing units in the northern region. You will perform repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance in accordance with required standards.

This on-site role requires basic trades experience, strong record-keeping, and the ability to coordinate with contractors.

Qualifications

Six months experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC.
Six months experience in record keeping.
Knowledge of estimating cost, time, and materials for projects.
Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Responsibilities

Performs repairs and upgrades to rental units within the northern region.
Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance within intern housing units.
Assists Housing Administrator with annual housing inspections.
Assists Housing Administrator with maintaining current lists for tasks to be completed for each unit.
Acts as liaison between Housing Administrator and contractors to ensure contracted work is completed in a timely manner and meets the Division’s standard.
Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
Maintain a positive attitude.
Other duties as assigned.
