Job summary

The Division of Parks and Recreation within the State of Delaware is seeking a year-round Housing Maintenance role to manage repairs and preventative work for 24 rental units statewide. The position requires six months in trades (plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC) and six months in record keeping, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Six months experience in performing work in a variety of trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting, or HVAC.
  • Six months experience in record keeping.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs and upgrades to rental units within the northern region.
  • Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance within intern housing units.
  • Assists Housing Administrator with annual housing inspections.
  • Assists Housing Administrator with maintaining current lists for tasks to be completed for each unit.
  • Acts as liaison between Housing Administrator and contractors to ensure contracted work is completed in a timely manner and meets the Division's standard.
  • Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned.
