Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an experienced Design Engineer 3-5 to support transportation projects through program delivery and design. This position works in East Baton Rouge Parish and reports to Engineer 6, with opportunities for career progression within the Engineering job series.

Minimum qualifications include possession of a current Louisiana professional engineering license.

Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering.
Applicants licensed in other states may apply and must obtain a Louisiana license prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

Prepares construction plans for pavement preservation and related projects at the District level.
Prepares and processes proposals and contracts for letter bids in accordance with policies.
Knowledge of State and Federal design standards and CAD, spreadsheets, and related software.
Provides technical expertise to District Permit Specialists and US Army Corps of Engineers.
