Job summary

DelDOT seeks a Communications Systems Specialist I to support statewide communications infrastructure. You will configure, install, repair, and align 800 MHz radio and related systems, ensuring connectivity and reliability across government agencies and emergency services.

Qualifications

• Possession of an Associates degree or higher in electronics, telecommunications, communications systems technology, computer networking, information technology, or related field.
• Certification in electronics, telecommunications, communications systems, radio systems, or related field OR one year of experience in technical electronics work involving communications systems.
• Six months experience installing, maintaining and replacing communications equipment such as analog, digital or two-way radios.
• Six months experience using test/diagnostic tools for troubleshooting radio systems.
• Coursework or training in FCC laws, rules, standards, policies and procedures.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled).

Responsibilities

• Operate, configure, install, repair, modify, and align statewide communications systems and related equipment.
• Monitor and test systems to ensure performance and reliability.
• Provide customer service and technical support to users and resolve inquiries.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues; coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Plan and schedule software/hardware updates and integrate into existing systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to program and maintain systems; document work.
