Job summary

The DSHS/Office of the Secretary in Delaware seeks a hands-on electronics technician to support the state's statewide communications infrastructure, including 800 MHz digital radio, microwave, and related equipment used by state, county, and emergency services.

You will configure, install, repair, and troubleshoot systems; provide user support; and keep equipment performing through testing and software updates, with statewide travel and rapid response during emergencies and public events.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in electronics, telecommunications, or related field, or relevant certification, or one year of experience.
• Six months experience installing, maintaining, and replacing communications equipment such as analog or digital radios.
• Six months experience using test equipment and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot radio systems.
• Six months experience soldering and repairing electronic components to circuit board level.
• Knowledge of FCC laws, rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities
