Job summary

DSHS/Office of the Secretary is seeking a Communications Systems Specialist I to provide hands-on support for Delaware's statewide radio and microwave infrastructure. You will configure, install, repair, and maintain 800 MHz digital radio systems and related equipment for state and municipal agencies, with travel for on-site support.

The role requires practical electronics skills, troubleshooting, and customer service, including emergency and event support, and occasional travel across Delaware.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in electronics, telecommunications, or related field, OR relevant certification, OR one year of technical electronics work experience.
• Six months experience installing and maintaining communications equipment such as analog or digital radios.
• Six months experience using test equipment and diagnostic tools for radio systems troubleshooting.
• Six months experience soldering and repairing electronic components to circuit board level.
• Knowledge of FCC laws, rules, regulations, standards and procedures.
• Valid Driver's License.
