Job summary

The California Department of Justice is seeking a Chief Digital Transformation Officer to coordinate strategic planning, establish IT standards, and lead enterprise modernization across the department. The role focuses on prioritizing technology investments, AI procurement, and DOJ-wide digital innovation initiatives.

The CDTO will report to the CDO as a strategy advisor and will drive collaboration with the Justice Information Services Division Chief, CISO, and General Counsel to advance

Qualifications

• Experience designing technology architecture plans for delivery of services.
• Experience developing policies around business development, IT resources, and AI governance.
• Experience advancing data governance and AI literacy with ethical use of data and AI.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate strategic planning and enterprise IT standards across DOJ.
• Lead statewide modernization roadmap development and multi-year planning.
• Oversee AI procurement strategy and responsible deployment across divisions.
• Collaborate with divisions and state agencies on IT modernization and policy implementation.
