Job summary

Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) seeks a Chief Information Officer to lead the DOC IT portfolio, shaping technology strategy and enterprise standards across statewide systems.

The CIO will oversee budgeting, policy development, program delivery, and staff development, driving collaboration with architects, project managers, and executive teams to improve services for Illinois residents.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in MIS/IT or related field.
• Four years of progressive IT management experience in large orgs.
• Four years policymaking, strategic planning and IT solutioning for large systems.
• Three years supervising IT professionals in a large public/private org.

Responsibilities

• Serve as CIO for DoIT, supporting DOC and aligning IT services statewide.
• Develop technology vision and strategic direction with enterprise standards.
• Establish goals, monitor performance, and ensure operational effectiveness.
• Represent DoIT to executive agencies and boards as primary advisor.
