Qualifications

Three years of administrative, technical, or professional experience in telecommunications fields such as telephone systems engineering, broadcasting, satellite systems, telecommunications regulations, data communications, or telecommunications management.
Four years of education in electronic engineering, physics, industrial engineering, communications, public utilities or related field.
Experience with grant-funded initiatives or government programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead statewide efforts to strengthen interoperable public safety communications across Alaska.
Shape the technological environment for 911 services and advance statewide interoperability initiatives.
Provide technical consulting and maintain the State 911 Plan and PSAP inventory.
Support Next Generation 911 (NG911) implementation and integrate 911 services into state/local emergency response plans.
