Job summary

TAG MedStaffing is seeking a Gastroenterologist for a Staten Island, NY position combining inpatient and outpatient care in a hospital and ambulatory practice environment.

The ideal candidate is fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology, with NY licensure, board-eligible or board-certified, and able to handle both outpatient duties and rotating inpatient coverage. Monday–Friday in-office schedule with rotating call is described.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship are required.
• Active or eligible New York State physician licensure is required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology is required.
• 1+ year of gastroenterology experience preferred, including inpatient and outpatient care and standard GI procedures.
• Strong knowledge of general gastroenterology, GI disease management, endoscopy, colonoscopy, and inpatient/outpatient GI care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a broad range of GI conditions.
• Perform endoscopy, colonoscopy, colorectal cancer screening and other GI procedures.
• Provide inpatient GI consultations and manage hospitalized patients.
• Evaluate and treat patients in ambulatory settings and develop diagnostic plans.
• Participate in shared call coverage and gastroenterology consultations.
