Job summary

The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) in Tallahassee leads Florida’s emergency operations and coordinates with federal, state, and local partners. This Operations Officer role monitors incidents, analyzes data, and ensures the State Emergency Operations Center remains ready to respond.

Responsibilities include collecting information, generating reports, coordinating with officials, and supporting 24-hour operations. Some travel and irregular hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with the ability to learn and navigate division enterprise business systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor incidents and events within Florida to determine SEOC readiness.
• Collect, categorize, and disseminate information to local, state, and federal partners.
• Document incident information and generate reports for officials.
• Communicate incident actions using established systems including NAWAS and other networks.
• Support 24-hour situational awareness and SEOC operations.
