Job summary

Qualifications

• High school education plus veteran with honorable discharge and resident of Nebraska for one year prior to appointment.
• Must have served in the armed forces of the United States according to State Statute 80-410.

Responsibilities

• Advise and represent veterans and their dependents in presenting claims for VA benefits.
• Direct the preparation of appeals on under-evaluated and denied cases.
• Conduct hearings on veterans’ benefits before appropriate agencies.
• Advise service officers of evidence needed to develop, process or reopen claims.
• Counsel veterans and dependents in filing and pursuing benefits.
