Job summary

Avenue at Broadview Heights is seeking caring STNAs to provide hands-on care and emotional support to residents in a post-hospital rehabilitation and skilled nursing setting. You will assist with daily living activities, maintain safety and cleanliness, and contribute to a compassionate environment.

Qualified candidates have completed or are enrolled in an STNA program, with shifts on 12-hour schedules and a commitment to professional, respectful care within an equal opportunity workplace.

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) program, or be enrolled and complete the program within four months of hire

Responsibilities

• 12 hour shifts
• Provide hygiene assistance to residents
• Assist residents with feeding and daily living needs
• Perform basic treatments and procedures as directed by the charge nurse
• Observe and report residents’ psycho-social and emotional needs
• Notify the Charge Nurse of any changes in residents’ conditions
• Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance
• Demonstrate respectful and professional behavior toward co-workers and facility contacts
• Use nursing home equipment properly and safely
• Follow OSHA guidelines for handling and storing chemicals and equipment
• Attend required in-service training programs
• Assist in other areas as directed by the Director of Nursing

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Lift up to 50 pounds

• Frequent bending, turning, pushing, and pulling

• Use of both hands and arms

• Exposure to odors, body secretions, and excrements

• Potential exposure to behavioral disorders

• Must be able to manage interpersonal conflicts effectively
