Job summary

Arbors at Sylvania, part of the Arbors family, is seeking a State Tested Nursing Assistant to join our compassionate team in Ohio. You will provide basic nursing assistance, support activities of daily living, and respond to resident needs with a focus on safety and dignity.

The role requires a CNA certification, HS diploma (or equivalent) preferred, and prior LTC experience is beneficial. Shifts include 6-2, 2-10, and 10-6 hours with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• License/Certification: Valid CNA certification in the state of employment.
• Experience: Six months in a long‑term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities and comfort measures.
• Answer call lights and help with grooming, bathing, incontinence care and feeding.
• Take vital signs and document intake/output as directed.
• Mobilize residents and assist with mobility and positioning in bed and wheelchair.

Summary

The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) under supervision provides basic nursing assistance and assists residents with daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Licenses/Certification: Valid certification as a CNA in the state of employment.
• Experience: Six months of experience in a long‑term care environment preferred.
• Job functions: Answers signal lights and bells to determine resident needs, assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care, obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding, assists residents with range of motion exercises and movement to wheelchair or activity areas, assists resident with turning and positioning in bed, assists resident with ambulation for short distance in facility, takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output as directed, performs other tasks as assigned.
• Knowledge/skills/abilities: Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations, ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members and facility staff.
