Job summary

The Avenue at Strongsville is seeking State Tested Nursing Assistants (STNAs) to join our compassionate team. We offer day and night shifts in a 12-hour rotation, with both full-time and part-time opportunities and the new daily pay benefit.

In this role, you will provide hands-on care, assist with hygiene and daily living activities, and support residents in a safe, respectful environment. Completion of an STNA program or enrollment within four months is required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) program, or be enrolled and complete within four months of hire.
• Ability to provide hygiene assistance and daily living support to residents.
• Observe, report, and document residents' psycho-social and emotional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide hygiene assistance to residents.
• Assist residents with feeding and daily living needs.
• Perform basic treatments and procedures as directed by the charge nurse.
• Observe and report residents’ psycho-social and emotional needs.
• Notify the Charge Nurse of any changes in residents’ conditions.
• Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance.
• Demonstrate respectful and professional behavior toward co-workers and facility contacts.
• Use nursing home equipment properly and safely.
• Follow OSHA guidelines for handling and storing chemicals and equipment.
• Attend required in-service training programs.
• Assist in other areas as directed by the Director of Nursing.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Lift up to 50 pounds

• Frequent bending, turning, pushing, and pulling

• Use of both hands and arms

• Exposure to odors, body secretions, and excrements

• Potential exposure to behavioral disorders

• Must be able to manage interpersonal conflicts effectively
