Nationwide, a Fortune 100 insurer, is seeking an Associate State Product Manager for Personal Lines. This role partners with the State Manager to develop state-level strategies, analyzes pricing and market dynamics, and coordinates cross-functional initiatives to drive profitability and growth.

Ideal candidates bring six years in underwriting or product, strong data analysis skills, and experience with regulatory and pricing considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
• Progress toward or completion of CPCU, AU CIC, INS ARM, Actuarial exams or similar designations preferred.
• Six years of experience in underwriting or product preferred; cross-functional experience and data analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support State Manager in executing state strategies by assisting with financial planning, rate reviews, and market development initiatives.
• Prepare and analyze reports on product performance, pricing, underwriting trends, and market dynamics to identify risks and opportunities.
• Assist in developing planning documents and review materials for monthly and quarterly state performance meetings.
• Integrate competitive intelligence into recommendations that inform pricing and product positioning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Operations, Claims, Pricing, Underwriting, Legal, IT, Product Development) to ensure timely execution of initiatives.
• Coordinate and track project timelines to support speed-to-market for updates and enhancements.
• Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to State Manager and stakeholders, adjusting approach based on audience.
