Senior State Product Manager – Personal Lines positions are available for California, Maryland/Delaware/DC, and Iowa/Minnesota/Nebraska/South Dakota.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own 1–2 high‑strategic states and provide oversight for additional states through direct reports.
- Drive high‑impact, enterprise‑level initiatives that influence countrywide personal lines strategy.
- Analyze product performance, profitability drivers, and financial results to identify opportunities and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Claims, Actuarial, Underwriting, Technology, and Legal to align stakeholders on state‑specific strategies.
- Monitor performance, communicate insights, and influence actions to address product pricing and financial results.
- Maintain deep knowledge of personal lines industry, state markets, regulatory environment, and economic trends.
- Build relationships with regulators and trade associations and anticipate regulatory shifts.
- Provide leadership across associate management, including performance, salary planning, training, workflow, hiring, and disciplinary actions.
- Participate in cross‑functional teams to complete projects or support the business.
Qualifications
- Advanced expertise in product development, pricing, underwriting appetite, and distribution strategy.
- Ten or more years of experience in underwriting and product management.
- Experience managing state P&L objectives and leading high‑impact strategic initiatives.
- Strong strategic and critical‑thinking capabilities with data‑driven insight generation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and align stakeholders.
- People‑leadership experience with a track record of guiding high‑performing teams.
Typical Skills and Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent; MBA preferred.
- Progress toward or completion of CPCU, AU CIC, INS ARM, Actuarial exams or similar designations preferred.
- Detailed knowledge of core business functions, insurance products, pricing architecture, state regulations, and underwriting procedures.
- Proficiency with analytical tools, relational databases, data visualization techniques, and query‑based language or statistical software.
- Strong organizational agility and political savvy.
Compensation
National salary range for Sr State Product Manager – Personal Lines: $122,000.00 – $214,000.00. Expected starting salary: $122,000.00 – $182,000.00.
