Job summary

Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service, is recruiting for State Park Ranger II positions statewide. These roles perform front-line park operations, interpretation, resource management, and visitor services across Maryland's parks.

The positions may work evenings, weekends, and holidays and may involve lifting and travel. Candidates will serve without direct supervision but may guide seasonal staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience, two years in forest or park management, plus four years in related field.
• Bachelor's degree + two years of related experience substitutions described in notes.
• Master’s degree can substitute five years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply park rules to ensure voluntary compliance.
• Coordinate forest and park programs and inform visitors of resources.
• Provide services to visitors and maintain facilities and resources.
• Work weekends, evenings, and holidays; may be called in.
