Job summary

Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service seeks a State Park Ranger Steward II to lead operations across statewide parks. You will interpret park rules, supervise staff, and coordinate forest and park programs while serving visitors and protecting resources.

This role requires weekend/evenings, indoor and outdoor work under varying conditions, and may involve cash handling and custodial duties. Location statewide with statewide impact.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience, with three years in forest/park management or related program development.
• Additional four years of experience in park management, recreation or natural/cultural resources field.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply park rules to ensure voluntary compliance.
• Coordinate forest and park programs and inform visitors of resources.
• Supervise professional and support staff; operate indoors and in the field.
• Provide direct visitor services and support resource management and facilities.
• Perform cash handling and administrative duties; work weekends/evenings.
