Baker Tilly is seeking a Winter 2027 State & Local Tax Associate in Texas (Houston/Frisco) to join its growing SALT practice. You will work with CFOs and leaders to solve complex state and local tax challenges while building expertise across income and franchise tax, sales and use tax, real and personal property tax, and incentive programs.

This role emphasizes consulting beyond compliance, collaboration with firm leadership, and opportunities to develop technical tax skills through on-the-job

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, law, or related business field.
• CPA and/or Bar exam completion is favorable.
• Strong academic performance required.

Responsabilités

• Provide state & local tax consulting to mid-market and Fortune 500 clients.
• Research state tax issues, nexus, and taxability analyses.
• Respond to notices from state and local tax authorities.
• Prepare memoranda and file SALT returns for multiple clients.
• Manage multiple client engagements with accuracy and deadlines.
