Job summary

The Aspen Institute, a global nonprofit headquartered in Washington, DC, seeks a Manager, State and Local Governments within the Financial Security Program. This full-time, 2-year term role supports BTI with relationship management, project coordination, and communications across state partners, with a focus on consistent engagement and strategic alignment.

In-office presence at the DC headquarters is expected at least twice weekly.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in government, public administration, program management, or communications.
  • Bachelor's degree required; a graduate degree in Public Policy/Administration or related field is a plus.
  • Proven project management and relationship-building skills with multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically.

Responsibilities

  • Lead state-facing communications and materials, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely outputs.
  • Coordinate the Safety Net Response Network activities and align with state needs.
  • Support planning and execution of BTI state-facing projects across partners and events.
