Job summary

Progressive regonal CPA firm in the Denver area seeks an Audit Manager with a State and Local Government specialization. This role offers a fast track to Director/Partnership, reasonable work-life balance, and a hybrid work environment with relocation assistance available.

The Manager serves as a liaison between Partners, clients, and staff, overseeing multiple audit engagements, budgeting, staffing, and engagement workflow while developing staff and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• At least five years of experience in public accounting in the public sector.
• CPA license current and valid.
• Experience with not-for-profit audits and government GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of audit or review engagements on multiple engagements.
• Maintain client relationships and understand client operations and control systems.
• Escalate issues to Director or Partner with proposed solutions.
• Demonstrate proficiency in technical skills and professional standards (GAAS, GAAP, GASB).
• Ensure engagements are properly scheduled and budgets tracked.
• Understand and apply the firm’s audit approach and methodology.
• Direct, train, and review staff and seniors on engagements.
• Support staff development and contribute to business development efforts.
