Job summary

The Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) is seeking a Generalist to support HR professionals across North Carolina state government, including the Governor's Office and boards. You will gain hands-on experience across recruitment, onboarding, time and leave administration, and employee records.

This full-time role offers telework eligibility with a three-day in-person and two-day remote hybrid schedule and state benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience with time and leave administration.
• Experience with payroll systems and HR data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the agency's time administrator in the State's HR/payroll system, monitoring entries and correcting errors.
• Collaborate with senior staff on recruiting and onboarding in Workday.
• Answer HR questions from employees and managers about leave and onboarding.
• Maintain personnel records in compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Run HR reports and analyze data to support decisions.
• Coordinate the agency's Service Awards Program and related activities.
• Assist with workers' compensation, HR process improvements and initiatives.
