Job summary

This role serves as the primary day‑to‑day liaison between the University and state legislators, staff, executive officials, and agency personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of professional experience in legislative affairs.
• Knowledge of state and local government structures and legislative processes.
• Ability to interpret complex legislative information and evaluate potential impacts on institutional programs.
• Experience drafting testimony and supporting amendment negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for University priorities with Maryland General Assembly and state officials.
• Serve as liaison between the University and state legislators, executive staff, and agency personnel.
• Monitor legislation, analyze policy, and develop advocacy materials.
• Coordinate budget tracking, regulatory tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
• Represent the University before the General Assembly and external groups when appropriate.
