This role serves as the primary day‑to‑day liaison between the University and state legislators, legislative staff, and executive branch officials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in legislative affairs working directly with lawmakers on policy or budget matters.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary day‑to‑day liaison between the University and state legislators, legislative staff, executive branch officials, and agency staff.
  • Monitor and analyze legislation, develop advocacy strategy, prepare testimony and policy materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with elected officials and governmental stakeholders.
  • Track budgets and regulations; coordinate state government requests involving University leadership, faculty, staff, students, and units.
  • Shape policy outcomes and advance University priorities during the annual legislative session.
  • Represent the University before the General Assembly, state agencies, external coalitions, and stakeholder groups as appropriate.
