Job summary

State of Wisconsin, Department of Administration, Region 2 is recruiting for a Human Resources Assistant at the DOC, Waupun Correctional Institution, WI. The role supports the HR Director, coordinates staffing and hiring, and backs up payroll and workers' compensation functions.

Entry or Advanced level with starting hourly pay between $24.00–$28.41 (entry) or $27.00–$35.00 (advanced), plus excellent benefits. 12-month probation, and pay per the Compensation Plan.”

Qualifications

• Interpreting, applying, and communicating rules, statutes, policies, and/or procedures to various audiences such as supervisors, employees, and the public.
• Creating and managing reports, spreadsheets, databases, etc., utilizing computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide paraprofessional administrative assistance to the HR Director and staff at the DOC location.
• Coordinate staffing, recruitment, hiring, employment relations, and apply rules/regulations.
• Back up Workers' Compensation/230.36 and Payroll processes.
