Job summary

Covista, America's largest healthcare educator, seeks a Senior Manager for State Government Relations and Public Affairs. The role leads regional legislative engagement, builds relationships with state legislators and agencies, and coordinates with institutional partners across Covista's universities and medical schools.

You will manage contract lobbyists, shape policy discourse, and ensure regulatory alignment while integrating public affairs with campus strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in public policy, law, or related field required.
• Master's Degree in public policy, law, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years state government relations or closely related field required.
• Experience in state legislative or executive environments preferred.
• Experience managing external lobbyists and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Regional Legislative and Regulatory Engagement across your region, tracking sessions and agency actions.
• Lobbyist Management: direct oversight of contract lobbyists and accountability for outcomes.
• Institutional Partnership: support campus leaders and policy environments affecting programs and campuses.
• State Political Contributions and Compliance: monitor filings, comply with ethics and reporting requirements.
• Narrative and Public Affairs Integration: align advocacy with earned media and stakeholder communications.
