Job summary

FINRA is seeking an Associate Director of State Government Affairs to monitor state legislation and regulations affecting the securities industry. You will serve as a liaison to state regulators and legislative staff, preparing comment letters and testimony, and advising executives on state relationship strategies.

The role is an individual contributor who collaborates with stakeholders. The position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least seven years in government relations or securities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and seven years of government relations or securities regulation experience required; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of securities regulation and state legislative processes is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking with sound judgment on complex regulatory matters.

Responsibilities

• Identify and monitor state legislation and regulations impacting FINRA programs and capital markets.
• Maintain coalitions with partners and stakeholders.
• Analyze and track state initiatives affecting FINRA or broker-dealers and report to senior leadership.
