Job summary

Experian is seeking a seasoned government affairs professional to monitor and influence state legislative and regulatory policy across multiple states. Based in Washington, DC with possible Sacramento consideration, this role collaborates with legal, compliance, and business teams, engaging with policymakers, associations, and coalitions to shape outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of state legislative or regulatory policy experience.
• Residence in DC or Sacramento hybrid role.
• Available to travel monthly.
• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related area.
• Experience with privacy, financial services and technology issues.
• Experience working across party lines.
• Ability to extract key takeaways from legislation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor state legislative and regulatory proposals across an assigned multi-state portfolio.
• Help lead legislative and regulatory engagement with state policymakers/regulators, working with consultants, lobbyists, associations and coalitions.
• Develop and execute advocacy strategies on priority state matters and coordinate positions.
• Monitor state agency rulemakings and regulatory proceedings and coordinate responses including comments.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance and business teams to assess policy developments and coordinate positions.
• Develop executive-ready policy analyses, legislative/regulatory reports, and briefing materials.
• Communicate enacted laws to support implementation and compliance planning.
• Support Experian’s state political and PAC activities.
