Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Welder to support Department of Transportation equipment maintenance and fabrication across Pennsylvania. You will perform welding, repair and fabrication on heavy equipment, select materials and techniques, and maintain welding tools in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires three years of welding experience or equivalent training, a Vo-Tech welding program, and an AWS D1.1 certificate.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience operating welding equipment, materials, and shop tools to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures.
• Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech welding program or eighteen months of related experience.
• Possession of an AWS D1.1 welding certificate or an approved equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Welding, brazing, soldering, cutting, and grinding on metal components.
• Repair, modifications, and custom fabrication on heavy equipment such as dump trucks and plows.
• Select materials, preparation methods, and welding techniques for safe repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on welding equipment.
• Apply LEAN principles in daily tasks to support continuous improvement.
