Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in Towanda, PA is seeking a Welder to support the Bradford County Maintenance Organization by performing skilled welding and fabrication to keep department equipment operating safely.

Responsibilities include repairing heavy equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and plows, selecting materials and welding techniques, and maintaining welding tools. This is a full-time role with day shifts and a strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Three years of welding equipment operation experience or completion of a Vo-Tech welding program with 18 months of related experience.
• Completion of an approved welder apprentice program or AWS D1.1 certificate.
• Equivalent mix of experience and training accepted.
• Active Pennsylvania Class C driver's license required.
• Welding certification to be obtained within six months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Perform welding, brazing, soldering, cutting, and grinding on metal components.
• Complete repairs, modifications, and custom fabrication on heavy equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, and plows.
• Choose materials and welding techniques to ensure safe repairs.
• Carry out routine maintenance and adjustments on welding equipment.
• Apply LEAN principles to daily tasks to support continuous improvement.

Formation

Three-year high school Vo-Tech welding program

Eighteen months of experience operating welding equipment

Approved welder apprentice program

AWS D1.1 welding certificate

Equivalent combination of experience and training
