Job summary

The Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington, DC is seeking an Officer, State Decarbonization Campaign Lead to guide state‑level policy campaigns that modernize the electric grid by expanding distributed energy generation and transmission buildout. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Generally, eight years of applicable experience in advocacy campaigns or policymaking institutions.
• Skilled at informing and influencing diverse external audiences through written and oral communications.
• Knowledge of the energy power sector and grid modernization issues.

Responsibilities

• Foster a work environment that inspires excellence and collaboration, with diversity and transparency.
• Develop and implement state-level policy campaigns, identifying opportunities and pivoting strategies as needed.
• Identify partners, supervise consultants, and manage relationships with government officials and grantees to meet deliverables.
• Cultivate knowledge of state public policy discussions and track relevant legislation and regulations.
• Represent Pew in government meetings, hearings, public events, and with local media.
• Write campaign materials for internal and external education and advocacy.
• Coordinate with Pew staff across communications, government relations, and field operations to execute campaigns.
