Assist NDT Technicians with inspections of structures, pipelines, or other components and materials using x-ray, ultrasound, or related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and utilization of equipment for non-destructive testing in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
- Support NDT inspections such as gamma radiography, x-ray radiography, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, leak testing, and visual inspections.
- Help in selecting, preparing, calibrating, and operating testing equipment.
- Identify defects in materials using testing techniques.
- Drive company vehicles and maintain a safe driving record.
- Learn from Lead Technicians and perform assigned tasks.
- Follow safety instructions to ensure team safety.
Additional Duties
- Perform cleaning and minor maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to following safety policies.
- Ability to work demanding and flexible schedules, including long hours and short-notice call-outs.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently and up to 150 pounds with assistance, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability through PROtect LLC insurance.
- State Card preferred.
- Some relevant work experience is preferred.
