Job summary

The Pew Charitable Trusts in the United States is seeking an Officer for State Campaigns within the Energy Modernization Project to lead policy campaigns that modernize the electric grid, expand distributed energy, and advance clean energy deployment. The role reports to the project director and collaborates across Pew leadership to pursue state-level opportunities across the political spectrum.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Generally eight years of applicable advocacy campaign experience.
  • Informs and influences diverse audiences through written and oral communications.
  • Knowledge of the energy power sector and emerging issues.
  • Non-partisan, evidence-based approach across political spectrum.
  • Builds relationships with partners, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Certify termination of lobbying registrations if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement state-level policy campaigns for grid modernization.
  • Identify opportunities, pivot strategies, and assess tactics and partners.
  • Cultivate relationships with government officials and partner organizations.
  • Represent Pew in government meetings, coalitions, hearings and public events.
  • Write campaign materials: analyses, fact sheets, briefs.
  • Collaborate with Pew staff to coordinate campaign activities.
  • Travel domestically as required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
