Job summary

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a Fiscal Policy Analyst in Boston to support the Executive Office for Administration and Finance. The role focuses on reviewing programs, analyzing agency requests, tracking spending and staffing, and preparing budget recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Four years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience in financial management work (budgeting, accounting, auditing, management analysis, program evaluation, or financial reporting).
  • Substitutions include: certificate/diploma for 1 year; Associate's for 1 year; Bachelor's for 2 years; Graduate degree for 3 years; Doctorate for required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Governor’s annual operating budget recommendation and the Commonwealth’s annual capital budget.
  • Identify and monitor budget and policy issues, including changes to laws and economic factors.
  • Coordinate with departments to implement fiscal policies and priorities.
