The Florida Legislature is seeking a technical analyst to serve the Budget Committee and Health Care Budget Subcommittee, providing expert budgeting analysis, research, and budget development support. You will prepare data, draft proposals, and respond to inquiries from legislators and the public.

Under supervision, you will analyze Medicaid finance related programs, develop cost estimates, and produce reports and summaries to inform policy decisions and fiscal oversight.

Qualifikationen

• Knowledge of state budgeting processes.
• Knowledge of LASPBS.
• Knowledge of legal terminology and legal research.
• Knowledge of committee subject area.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe.
• Knowledge of Florida state government, legislative rules, and procedures.
• Strong reading comprehension, analysis and organization.
• Effective written and oral communication.
• Ability to work independently with initiative.
• Ability to manage deadlines under pressure.

• Analyzes and summarizes proposed legislation to assess impact.
• Researches and drafts legislation and amendments as directed.
• Plans meetings and prepares agenda, materials, and presentations.
• Monitors implementation of legislation to ensure intent is met.
• Briefs legislators in writing or verbally on issues.
• Conduces research projects and mandated studies.
• Reviews funding models and expenditure estimates.
• Develops programmatic cost estimates.
• Prepares reports with recommendations for action.
• Provides information and problem‑solving assistance to legislators and the public.
• Prepares letters, summaries, talk-sheets, or speeches on committee issues.
• Keeps abreast of new issues and attends relevant workshops.
• Co-ordinates with administrative staff and other team members.
• Serves as liaison with state agencies.
• Operates computer-based word processing, database, and spreadsheet apps.
• Performs other related duties as required.
