RoBuildX is funded by a combination of venture capital, private equity funds, and real estate investment trusts (REITs). Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Startup Lawyer to support the legal needs of our fast-paced and innovative environment. This role requires expertise in a broad range of legal areas, including intellectual property, trade secrets, corporate financing, labor law, and contractual negotiations. As our Startup Lawyer, you will play a key role in ensuring RoBuildX operates within legal and regulatory frameworks while safeguarding its intellectual and operational assets.

Key Responsibilities

1.Intellectual Property (IP) and Trade Secrets

oManage the development, filing, and protection of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

oDevelop and enforce protocols to maintain the company’s trade secret system.

oAdvise on strategies to protect proprietary technology and data.

2.Corporate Financing and Governance

oSupport fundraising efforts, including venture capital (VC) due diligence, term sheets, and equity agreements.

oStructure legal frameworks for financing through REITs and private equity funds.

oDraft, review, and negotiate shareholder agreements, bylaws, and other governance documents.

3.Contracts and Agreements

oDraft and negotiate labor contracts, outsourcing agreements, and construction contracts.

oDevelop standardized templates for agreements with contractors, vendors, and strategic partners.

oEnsure compliance with local and international laws governing contracts.

4.Day-to-Day Legal Operations

oProvide counsel on employment law and HR policies, including onboarding, labor disputes, and terminations.

oAdvise on risk management and liability issues in the construction and technology sectors.

oOversee compliance with industry regulations and corporate legal obligations.

5.Strategic Advisory

oAdvise leadership on legal implications of business strategies and operational decisions.

oCollaborate with external counsel as needed for specialized legal matters.

oStay current on legal trends and changes impacting the robotics, construction, and real estate sectors.

Qualifications

o Education: J.D. from an accredited law school

oMinimum 5–7 years of legal experience, including startup, corporate, or intellectual property law.

oExperience with VC financing, IP filings, and trade secret protection is highly preferred.

oFamiliarity with real estate and construction law is a strong advantage.

oExceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

oStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

oAbility to work independently in a dynamic, high-pressure startup environment.

Nice to have: Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
