Job summary

Morgan Hunter is partnering with a growing Kansas City-area homebuilder to hire a Starts Coordinator for an immediate opening. This onsite role provides administrative support to the construction team, coordinating building permits, tracking project details, and helping keep new home construction projects moving forward.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets is desired to manage data and maintain project trackers.

Qualifications

• Customer service, administrative, or office experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable with data entry, Excel, Google Sheets, and learning new systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow up with outside organizations.
• Positive attitude, dependable work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Construction, permitting, or homebuilding experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit building permit applications to local municipalities.
• Track permit approvals, payments, and outstanding documentation.
• Communicate with municipalities to resolve questions and obtain approvals.
• Coordinate construction start schedules and maintain project trackers.
• Review plot plans, construction documents, and supporting materials.
• Update spreadsheets, project records, and internal systems.
• Prepare construction start packets and coordinate with internal teams.
• Assist with general office duties, including phones, supplies, and mail.
