Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance.
• Provide information about the golf course, play times, and pace of play.
• Assist guests with check-in and direct them to their starting times.
• Verify revenues by inspecting receipts before players begin.
• Keep staff informed about pace of play from the first tee.
• Provide scorecards, pencils, and other items as needed.
• Advise guests on course conditions and expected pace of play.
• Enforce course policies and programs as directed by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Overview

Golf Course Starters/Player Assistants provide guest services by guiding players to the first tee at appropriate times and controlling a smooth pace of play on the golf course. This role is suited for friendly, organized individuals who can work in a fast-paced environment and deliver strong customer service. Knowledge of golf is preferred, but previous golf course starting experience is not required.

Experience Required

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have a strong work ethic
• Must have a friendly personality and enjoy working with the public
• Organized, able to work well in fast paced environment
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be dependable
• Knowledge of the game of golf preferred

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain professional appearance
• Provide information regarding the golf course, play time, and other golf-related issues
• Provide customer service to arriving guests to help expedite the check-in process
• Verify that all revenues have been properly recorded by inspecting receipts for all players before they begin
• Keep golf shop personnel informed regarding pace of play off the first tee
• Supply guests with scorecards, pencils, and other items if needed
• Advise guests of course conditions and expected pace of play
• Implement and support all course policies and programs as communicated by management
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
