Overview
Greet guests, set up and/or closing of the course, start golfers from the first tee, keep golfers informed of rules and regulations, and help maintain pace of play on the course.
Experience Required
- General knowledge of the game of golf.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be willing and available to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to relate to other people in a professional manner.
- Ability to understand the rules of golf.
- Ability to work inside and outside in different weather conditions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Keep order, ensure prompt tee off, and maintain the flow of golfers as they prepare to play the course.
- Pick up litter around the first tee, putting green, and pro shop.
- Check all ball washers and fill with water/solution if needed.
- Rove the course throughout the shift and be available to golfers.
- Know all course rules and enforce them.
- Record and report all complaints to the Head Golf Professional.
- Inform any golfer who damages private property that they are liable for restitution.
- Ensure play moves along steadily and ask slow golfers to allow faster golfers to play through.
- Periodically check water coolers and fill if needed.
- Empty garbage cans when needed.
- Pick up litter on the course.
- Complete accident/incident reports for all accidents on course.
- Provide excellent customer service and display a positive, professional attitude at all times.
- Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments.
