Job summary

SpaceX Hawthorne is seeking a Tooling Inspector (Starship) Level 4/5 to serve as the last line of defense in ensuring hardware meets design requirements. You will perform in-process and end-of-line inspections on rocket hardware, using GD&T, laser trackers, Romer arms, and Verisurf software.

You will communicate with fabricators, machinists, and engineers, document anomalies, support root cause analysis, and inspect large structures from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 5+ years with laser trackers and Romer arms.
• 5+ years using Verisurf software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints using GD&T to verify assembly levels.
• Collect geometric data with laser trackers and Romer arms via Verisurf.
• Establish reference systems on parts and apply them on/off the component.
• Analyze data to guide remaining tooling operations.
• Assess environmental effects on large structures and weld shrinkage.
• Communicate findings to fabricators, machinists and engineers.
• Document anomalies and support root-cause analysis.
• Observe operations and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Support non-conforming product processing and corrective actions.
• Provide inspections of flight and development hardware per drawings and CAD.
