Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Tooling Inspector (Starship) at the Hawthorne facility to join the Tooling Quality Inspection team. You will perform in-process and end-of-line inspections, interpret GD&T, collect data with laser trackers and Romer arms, and ensure conformance to design requirements on large structures.

This Level 4/5 role requires 5+ years with laser trackers, Romer arms, and Verisurf software, plus readiness for 2nd shift, overtime, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of professional experience with laser trackers and Romer arms.
• 5+ years of experience with Verisurf software.

Responsibilities

• Use GD&T to interpret blueprints at all assembly levels.
• Collect geometric data using laser trackers and Romer arms via Verisurf.
• Establish reference systems and apply them on and off parts.
• Provide analysis of data to guide tooling operations.
• Document production and test anomalies per procedures.
• Communicate with fabricators, machinists, and engineers as required.
• Perform in-process inspections on flight components using drawings and CAD models.
• Assist root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
• Observe operations and offer technical guidance as needed.
• Support inspection of large structures from concept to completion.
