Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Precision Inspector for the Starship program, 2nd shift in Hawthorne, CA. You will inspect aerospace parts using surface plates, read drawings with GD&T, and develop PC-DMIS CMM programs for accurate measurements.

The role requires 3+ years of quality inspection experience, strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5, and the ability to work in a cleanroom environment. SpaceX offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of quality inspection experience.
• Understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems is preferred.
• Ability to review drawings and identify callouts and datum structures per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Complete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace parts.
• Inspect supplied product per drawings/work orders to verify conformance.
• Perform complex inspections following standardized methods.
• Document non-conformances per procedures.
• Create, maintain and verify CMM programs for measurements.
• Read GD&T requirements on engineering drawings.
• Interact with production to improve quality and reduce defects.
• Support quality management system policies and continual improvement initiatives.
