Job summary

SpaceX in Starbase, Texas, is seeking a Structural Test Engineer for the Starship Structural Test team. This role focuses on executing large system-level static and dynamic tests, designing test hardware and fluid/DAQ systems, and leading technicians to assemble and instrument test articles.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in engineering and at least 1 year of relevant testing experience, with willingness to work in demanding environments and safety-critical settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or other engineering field.
• 1+ years of experience with testing, mechanical or data acquisition, and control system design (internships and college competition team count).

Responsibilities

• Work with vehicle engineers and execute static and dynamic system-level structural tests.
• Design, modify, and build mechanical systems and weldments.
• Design, modify, build, and troubleshoot fluid systems including cryogenic propellants and hydraulics.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, and configuration files.
• Operate the test stand from setup to execution with a small team.
• Direct technicians to install instrumentation and hardware and manage test articles.
• Review data manually or with scripts.
